Gulf Shores, Alabama
After returning from South America we had 29 hours at home before we were off again for a quick weekend trip. We flew from Nashville to Pensacola with a layover in Atlanta. The flights were quick and easy. I will tell you about the wonders of the iPhone app, Flight Track pro. Apps can be your best friend and your not so best friend while traveling. I love the YELP app. It can help you find a place...

Taxis, luggage and other South American woes...
I have shown you beautiful places to visit in South America. Here are a few tips for making your way around South America. Taxis In every city you will have official taxis and gypsy taxis. Each city has different marking for their cars. Trust your gut. If you get in a taxi and the driver does not have a license or a meter they are not official. Just because a driver is official it does not mean...

Our trip to the favela in Rio and more.....
Since our few day vacation was not going to be spent at the beach we were trying to think of alternative ventures. Sunday we went shopping. My last visit to Rio I bought a ring for my friend from a Brazilian jeweler Fabrizio Giannone. Since then I’ve regretted not buying one for myself. We finally found the shop and they did not have that ring or that style any longer. OH WELL! We walked...

Corcovado
Corcovado, Christ the Redeemer, Big Jesus on the hill.  Which ever name you call him it is a must see when visiting Rio. It’s been mostly overcast and a little rainy since we’ve been in...

Brazil!!!
As of now I am post work reporting from Brazil. Back track to Sao Paulo….. If you have read this you know I worked very very hard to save my Iphone from sudden death due to jumping in an ice bucket. Days spent in a bag of rice, being dried by a hair dryer and many other tasks to save the phone. I got to SP and realized the phone survived and all was good. Show day went on as usual. I sent...

Sao Paulo, Brazil
I don’t have much to report from one of the largest cities in the world. We went to dinner at the original Fogo de Chao. The service is unbelievable and the food is always the best you could ask for. Today I have to work a little and then I am going to find a good sushi restaurant. Sao Paulo has the largest Japanese population outside Japan. AND, I need to find this line of jewelry that is...

Flight was delayed and delayed and delayed. I think we finally made it to our hotel in Lima around 2am. We stayed at the Swisseotel. This was by far my favorite hotel. Why you ask??? Because when we arrived they...
